THE SHORT ANSWER

For Saudi-issued documents, consult the current HCCH Convention status and competent-authority information for the particular instrument. A country’s participation does not remove the need to check the document category and Turkish recipient’s requirements.

01

Apostille eligibility and the scope of Turkish representation

Saudi Arabia appears in the HCCH Apostille status table, with entry into force recorded as 7 December 2022. The relevant bilateral effect, document scope and authority should still be checked. An apostille does not determine whether a divorce instrument is a recognisable judgment, establish finality or replace a Turkish translation.

02

Prepare the Turkish part of the matter

For a Turkish property purchase or estate, nationality, title and representation require separate checks. Do not assume a general authority to manage affairs includes the right to sell land, receive the price or renounce an inheritance. Confirm the required form and photograph before arranging a local or consular appointment.

03

A practical plan from where you live

A family or company matter may involve records from several countries even when the client currently lives in Saudi Arabia. List the issuer of each document and the result needed in Turkey. Services described here concern Turkish law; any Saudi-law effect should be assessed by an appropriately qualified professional.

04

What to include in your first enquiry

State your country of residence, the legal issue in Turkey and any known deadline. If there is a judgment, identify the issuing authority and whether it is final. If property or an estate is involved, give only a general description at this stage. Do not send identity numbers, banking credentials or sensitive allegations in the public form. Formal documents are reviewed through an agreed channel after scope and authority are clarified.
