A US document route depends on the state, court or federal authority that issued it. Start with the exact jurisdiction and document, then decide whether the Turkish need is recognition, enforcement, a property transaction or proof of civil status.
State-issued documents and Turkish legal proceedings
A divorce decree, court certificate, birth record and notarised power of attorney are different documents. Record the issuing state and county where relevant, and obtain the form the Turkish recipient needs. Do not assume every US public document is authenticated by the same authority. Finality and service must be considered separately from an apostille.
Prepare the Turkish part of the matter
For Turkish inheritance, a US estate plan, trust arrangement or executor appointment should be reviewed for its actual legal effect. A title in Turkey is not automatically controlled by every term of a US trust or probate order. Map each asset and the deceased’s nationality before deciding the Turkish procedure.
A practical plan from where you live
Long time differences make written preparation useful. Provide a short issue summary, state and time zone, any hearing or response deadline and your preferred contact method. Do not send tax returns, Social Security numbers or full account records in the initial enquiry. US tax and estate advice remains a separate scope for qualified US professionals.
What to include in your first enquiry
State your country of residence, the legal issue in Turkey and any known deadline. If there is a judgment, identify the issuing authority and whether it is final. If property or an estate is involved, give only a general description at this stage. Do not send identity numbers, banking credentials or sensitive allegations in the public form.
